Trip to Fire station

Weow….Weow… Weow….! Wonder what? Yes, it’s the sound of a siren we heard, not on the roads, but this time closer to our eyes and ears…and YES!!! It’s our ELC 2’s field trip to the fire station to explore one of our community helpers – Firefighters – the BIGGER fire trucks, the LONGER sky ladder, the rescue boat, the fire suit, the fire extinguisher, and the Quick Response Vehicle (QVR). Our learners were enthralled to know the purpose of each one of these. Our little inquirers posed questions like “Aren’t you scared while climbing up the longer sky ladder?”, “Where are the fire dogs?”, “Why are the fire trucks in red color?”,”How will you rescue animals in trouble?” The firefighters were delighted to respond to the thoughtful questions from our young minds in an interesting and responsible manner. What an insightful trip it was!
